What I'm reading now

Ever since I was a little girl books and reading have been an important part of my life.  And they have become an important part of my classroom routine.  In my prekindergarten classroom the kids knew that the day that the big red box arrived was going to be the most exciting day that week.  I tended to ignore a good portion of my lesson plan and go through the scholastic book order with them.  Sometimes I had parents that ordered books for their children, but mostly it was books that I ordered for the classroom.  I have spent a lot of money on books and I don't regret a penny of it.  Those kids loved to read and loved going through that book box.  I created a culture that valued literacy.  I can only hope that this is something that they carry with them.

Like I said, books have always been very important to me.  As a child, I read at an early age and I preferred to buy books at toys r us rather than toys.  I know that I was out of the norm.

I am always reading 3 books in addition to the books I read at school.  This means I get through these books at varying paces depending on my school schedule and what book of the three I have gotten sucked into recently.

I will be featuring books on here.  I want to be clear.  I am doing this because I love books and I want to share my enthusiasm for books.  Unless I state otherwise these are my unsolicited opinions and I am not being paid for them.  I will be featuring a wide range of books as I come across them.  But a regular feature will be what I'm reading now.  That's what today's post is.  I'll just give you the quick rundown of what I'm reading and once I finish one of the books, I'll post a review as well as an updated what I'm reading now post.

So here is what I'm reading now:

The Best Yes by Lysa Terkeurst.
- I'm just starting this one.  But so far in loving it.  This is the Christian book I'm reading right now.

Teaching:
I'm in between teaching reads right now because I have so many textbooks I have to read.  But I just bought several books I want to read and when I start one I will update this.

Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult. I'm just about finished with this one.  I love all Jodi Picoult books but this one took me a while to warm up to.  I'll review it when I'm done.

So... What are you all reading right now?
